Welcome to the Jackson DDR Tournament page.
Still under heavy construction, you should be able
to find info about the tournament, and even sign up.
So without further ado, here's the 'fo.

Location: Diamond Jim's Arcade | (directions here)
Date: November 2nd, 2002
Time: T.B.D. (Check here for possible info.)
Machine: Dance Dance Revolution 5th mix
Format: Pending on how many people show up.
There are two possible formats. If there
are eight or less people, there is possibility
for a round robin. Otherwise, elimination
rounds will be anticipated. People will be
randomly matched up with someone else
and go through one elimination round
then to advance to quarters, then semis
and then finals. There will be Singles P.A.,
Doubles P.A., and Freestyle exhibition.
(Freestyle comp. pending on signup)
Rules: Pre-registration is not
required, but preferred to get an idea
of how many people to expect.
More info on registration can be found here.
Must pay for your own token.
Registration does NOT cover token.
You may compete in as many events
as you want, but you may not enter
twice in the same event. (Duh).
First and second rounds held
on Basic or Trick songs.
3rd song will be ran on Trick
The Third round, song must be Trick or Maniac.
3rd Song will be held on Maniac.
For all remaining rounds, Maniac for all songs.

These are not allowed: Long version songs
Stealth
Hidden
Sudden
Left
Right
Mirror
Shuffle
edits
Scoring: It is up to the competitors to select their
first two songs. The third song will be
chosen at random by tournament directors.
Points will be counted up at the end,
and the scoring is as follows:
Perfects will count double.
Greats will count 1. For example:
Player 1:
209 Perfects
44 Greats

Player 2:
220 Perfects
12 Greats

So, the score for P1 would be...
(209 * 2) + 44 = 462

The score for P2 would be...
(220 * 2) + 12 = 452

Player 1 wins that song.
Limitations: During PA, a postings sheet
will be posted. If you are not
there for your round, a 2-min.
grace period will be issued.
If you fail to show up, your
opponent gets the win.
When the results screen
is displayed, DO NOT PRESS
THE GREEN BUTTON. The judges
have to capture your score,
and if you do so, you get DQ'ed.
If both people do it, both are DQ'ed.
In Freestyle, use your common sense.
Don't do anything that would "offend"
the audience, nor "offend" the machine.
(i.e., matrix walks.)
Prizes: According to the
official DDR Freak Jackson multipurpose
thread, it was decided that this would
pot tournament. Meaning that with
all the accumulated money in a
certain event, it would be divided
50%-30%-20%. (For 1st, 2nd, 3rd.)
